The FMK Foundation

Helping families overcome life's lemons

Our foundation is committed to helping individuals & families heal from trauma and addiction by providing resources focused on mental health, suicide awareness and access to research backed trauma healing modalities. We also want to help overcome the stigma that trauma is a life-long obstacle to an injury that can be healed.

OUR STORY

The FMK Foundation was founded by Jennifer and Jon Kikel on July 30, 2014 in memory of their deceased parents Frank J. Kikel and Marlene S. Kikel. Frank battled addiction and mental illness for many years and took his life in October 1984. Marlene battled cancer in 1990, a second time in 2003 and ultimately made the decision to end her life by medically induced suicide.

Both Frank and Marlene set an example to their kids to dream big and become entrepreneurs. They were lucky to be raised by parents with these qualities, as well as, to always have confidence, a no fear attitude, persistence, and class. They encountered life’s lemons along the way through the loss of their parents at such a young but have become successful in their lives by addressing not only their parents traumas but also their own.

The FMK Foundation is committed to helping those working through trauma by providing resources focused on mental health, suicide awareness and trauma specific based treatments.
